If you haven’t yet made summer school plans and you’re wondering just how you’re going to get through the long holidays, MTA summer school for 4-11 year olds may be the answer you’re looking for. Week days from the 1st July – 2nd August, the MTA summer school hours are from 9am-2pm. In that time you can rest assure that your child will be fully occupied with fun activities and games, including a morning swim.
Hosted by MTA’s teachers, an activity schedule following weekly themes has been organised to ensure no child will ever complain of boredom. There is a beach theme, pirates, monsters, superheroes and the animal kingdom.
A typical day includes a morning swim for an hour (a qualified lifeguard is present) and then off to a marquee surrounded by nature where children will play games and do arts and crafts activities based on the weekly theme. They will take advantage of the outdoor environment they are in with photo scavenger hunts and exploring activities in the woods.
Every Friday of each week includes a popular talent show for children to perform a particular skill or talent with friends or on their own. Dancing, joke telling, singing – whatever the talent – the teachers will be on hand to encourage and support your child with time set aside each day to practice for the show – something the children relish and look forward to immensely.
What’s great for you about MTA summer school is their flexibility. Although it’s preferable to book by the week to secure your child’s place, it’s also an option to book your child for a day or two – something which other summer schools don’t always provide as an option.
MTA summer school is English spoken, however all the teachers speak Spanish and so it is also ideal place for Spanish children to learn English amongst their peers.
Children need to arrive preferably wearing their swim suits and caps, with a bag packed with sun screen, a towel, a change of clothes, a water-bottle (which can be refilled on site) and a lunch box with enough food for a snack break at 10.30 and lunch break at 12.30.
