A Background in Beauty

Salon founder Denise was born in Tenerife to her Swedish parents who then relocated to Mallorca for work. At 14 she moved back to Sweden to further her education, and at 16 began training as a chiropodist – an expert in foot health (which makes her pedicures especially fantastic!). Denise’s mother was a model and a trained beautician, eventually opening her own beauty salon in Sweden where Denise worked alongside her for five years. However, Sweden’s cooler climate meant Mallorca was calling, and Denise decided to make the move back to the island where she embarked on a career in the medical field. She worked with doctors, visiting patients from 8am to 3pm each day but would rush home to perform beauty treatments on an ever-growing base of clients eager for her services.

30 Years of Experience

Once Denise reached 25 regular beauty clients, she decided it was time to open her own salon. Located in Portals Nous since its inception 30 years ago, Denise’s salon has moved just once since they first opened, relocating across the street to a larger site as the business grew. Now Denise has a team of three therapists that work with her, and all are equally committed to providing unparalleled service to their loyal clients. “As a team we all try our best to look after the client as we would like to be looked after”, says Denise. “It’s a lot of hard work and dedication but we love our work.”

The Treatments

At Denise Beauty Salon they have wide range of amazing treatments available, from facials and spray tans, to lash care, brow care and body treatments. Even men are well catered for, with specially tailored facials, waxing, massage and manicures. In fact, Denise has a very good male clientele which in part may be due to the salon being so welcoming yet private and discreet.

Among the most popular treatments is the Deep Facial Clean, whereby the skin is thoroughly assessed to determine what is needed, followed by steam, exfoliation, massage, extraction of impurities with a high frequency machine, and a facial mask. They even perform an eyebrow pluck for good measure! This is the perfect monthly treatment to ensure your skin stays clean, healthy and luminous.

The Hydradermie facial is another of their unique stand out treatments and works wonders on the skin. Utilising beautiful products from Parisian brand Guinot with a hydraderm machine, the skin is oxygenated, and the cells are boosted for deep moisturising and antiaging effects. The treatment is finished with essential oils making it an utterly relaxing and nourishing experience.
