Meditation is something we’d all probably like to do more of, but often the practice gets side-lined as endless to-do lists and distractions take over. This is why we’re loving Sara Fenwick’s sunset meditation classes and marking the weekly event as a non-negotiable in the diary. Held on her spacious Santa Catalina rooftop overlooking Palma Bay, the Cathedral, and across to the Tramuntana mountains, it certainly is an inspiring backdrop for some introspection and reflection.
Sara is kindly holding these classes free of charge for anyone that wants to join – no previous meditation experience is necessary, simply bring yourself along with a yoga mat and a bolster or cushions to allow yourself to sit comfortably. Held every Wednesday from 8pm to 9.30pm (with a chance to chat and mingle afterwards) meditation with Sara allows you to catch the glorious sunset hues over Palma while giving yourself time to observe your thoughts and create valuable awareness and perspective.
What the Classes Entail
In each class Sara imparts meditation and mindfulness techniques including at least two active practices. One practice is a seated meditation in the style of Zen Buddhists, while the other can draw from a variety of modalities and traditions including Buddhism, science-based mindfulness techniques, and different schools of Yoga. Special attention is given to correct posture, breathing and the integration of practice in day to day life. At the end of each session there is time to share experiences.

A bit about Sara
Sara Fenwick has been practicing meditation and yoga for 25 years. Sara’s mother ran a holistic wellness centre in the US giving her access to Chinese breathing instruction and psychologists from a young age, and at 13 she began a daily Zazen style seated meditation. From there she started studying with Buddhists and implementing science backed mindfulness techniques, including neurofeedback practices, which she calls tangible meditation.
Sara has studied Yoga in the Iyengar style through books, with various teachers, and extensive personal practice. She has consistently worked with an energy healer to learn visualisation techniques to release trauma and promote healing. Her university studies in physics, neuroscience and biochemistry bridged the gap between experiential and experimental views; something she’s since accepted without discrepancy as two mutually important worlds in the history of Yoga and India. Whilst at university she began teaching meditation and yoga, also working as a meditation consultant.
Today, Sara continues her studies in the science and philosophy of Yoga, formally studying in the Tantra lineage where she’s advanced her techniques in meditation using visualisation and Yoga Nidra. She holds her 300 RYT and 200hr e-RYT and is qualified to teach YACEP continuing education courses. Sara additionally compliments her studies in introspection and healing through studying massage (Masaje Californiano) and a type of suspended Yoga called Yoga Aerio Ahimsa.
One on One
If you would like to work with Sara one on one, she offers sessions with private clients to help resolve issues or encourage growth and abundance using holistic coaching techniques (some of which are used in the meditation group). You can message her on WhatsApp at +34 685 016 668 to find out more.
