If you missed the first instalments of Ché Miller’s SIMPLIFYT journey, catch up here:
Week 10
Ten weeks had been and gone in what seemed like a flash. I was feeling fit and healthy physically and my mind was clear and balanced, however I still wanted to see some proof of success in the cold hard numbers. It was time for my final fitness test and InBody Analysis. Although I was feeling great, I wasn’t convinced that the regular short workouts would have significantly transformed my fitness. I had always been used to long intense exercise sessions (which in hindsight probably pumped stress hormones through my system and exhausted my adrenals). We would soon find out!
Fitness Test
Sanne, one of the lovely SIMPLIFYT trainers (and a visual embodiment of radiant health) put me through my paces with the same series of exercises that I had performed on Day 1 of my journey. I smashed them out with ease and speed while Sanne recorded the results. How did I fare? Well, I completed an additional 5 squats in the allocated time, 2 more sit-ups, and 5 more push-ups. My flexibility also improved with an extra 13cm gained on the ‘sit and reach’ exercise. All in all, I had clearly made advancements.
InBody Analysis
Next I jumped on the InBody Analysis machine which was to measure changes in my body composition from Day 1 to now- 2.5 months later. The machine firstly showed that my body weight had literally not changed. Although I was already in the healthy weight range for my age and height to begin with, this wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. No progress whatsoever? Really?? However, this is the beauty of the InBody machine opposed to your stock standard digital scales. The analysis drilled down further, and this is where it got interesting. Although my weight was the same, my skeletal muscle mass had increased by 600g, my body fat mass had decreased by 1.1kgs, and my body fat percentage decreased by 1.6%. Fantastic!
The machines analysis covers many more aspects such as protein and mineral content in the body (necessary for defining muscle and strengthening bones), the body’s water content, and the exact distribution of muscle and fat. Toning up and building muscle was one of my primary goals in this programme, so I was definitely pleased with the results.
Life Coaching
Upon reflection I had covered a lot of ground during my weekly life coaching sessions with SIMPLIFYT founder and Life Coach Evelyn Sztojanov. Without wanting to sound dramatic, I had completely evolved over the 10-week period. Talking things through with a professional really does make a huge difference to your mental wellbeing, and I urge you to give it a go should you have the opportunity. My entire perception of myself had shifted, my confidence had grown massively, and I was happier in my skin. The end of 2019 brought some significant challenges and changes into my life, which I believe Evelyn helped me meet head on, using a variety of tools.
My Personal ‘Soul Plan’
These sessions culminated with me creating my own ‘Soul Plan’, which is similar to a business plan, but for your life. It is almost a roadmap which highlights where you are, and where you will be in the future utilising all of your resources and strengths. This living document only focuses on that which you wish to manifest, and not on any limiting beliefs. It helps you visualise and internalise your higher aims, whilst emphasising your achievements and how far you have progressed to date. I have read this document multiple times since I finished the SIMPLIFYT programme, and it never ceases to spark motivation and gratitude. As a living document I also tweak aspects as required, depending on the different twists and turns life presents.
6-Months On
Here I sit, 6-months later reflecting on my SIMPLIFYT 10-week journey. I am shocked and pleased to say I have continued my healthy lifestyle (even through lock-down) and shed an additional 3kg effortlessly. I have kept working on my goals, both personal and professional, focusing relentlessly on my ambitions and acting decisively toward them. Contemplating, articulating and writing down my reality and what I want from life with Evelyn really put the wheels in motion and set the direction for my future. I can honestly say I am currently at a place in life where I have never felt more empowered and surer of myself.
As a final testament to this journey I want to share one last experience. I recently went to a barbecue where a woman who I have met several times, but had barely spoken to previously, pulled me aside. She said “I know this may sound odd, but I can see people’s energies very clearly. The times I have met you previously your energy was very low and diminished. I just wanted to tell you that it has completely changed and you’re radiating such a wonderful energy and aura now. I don’t know what you’ve done but it’s such a contrast and I’m very happy for you.” This completely unsolicited validation from an almost stranger really hit home. In just 10-weeks I had completed a life overhaul with results I could have never envisaged.
